To the north, rolling tallgrass and wind-bent wildflowers sweep away from the city in long, open waves. Game trails and caravan ruts cross the prairie, with scattered stone cairns marking wells and waypoints. Thunderheads build fast out here; when the weather flags rise, riders and herds move.

A spine of broken stone and knife-edged ridges, the Marrows are mostly bare rock with only sparse, wind-twisted pines clinging to ledges. Trails thread across scree and stacked shelves where sudden rockfall and razor-slide are a constant threat. Caves and cut gullies shelter dangerous fauna that hunt the passes, and ward cairns mark “red-flag” days when the route is closed. Travel here is deliberate, loud with falling gravel, and never taken alone. Mines dig deep into the mountains, many ancient and collapsed, others full functioning. Expect dangerous encounters here.

Dense canopy, deep shade, and a hush that carries farther than it should—the Whisperwood swallows roads into green. Mossed stones and forgotten markers hint at older paths, while understory fog blurs distance and direction. Here and there, occasional shrines to the Loom appear: timeworn, natural things of stacked or circles of stone, woven twigs, and thread-charms, half-claimed by lichen and vine.

A wide, glittering crescent where light and tide tangle, Sunsnare Bay blinds at noon and fogs over by dusk. Shoals, rip currents, and half-sunk pylons challenge captains, while kelp beds and oyster grounds feed half the markets in Embrathis. Sunsnare Bay drops fast from the shoreline into cold, rich currents—prime fishing grounds for net boats and longliners alike. The bay is generous, but its depth and sudden weather demand respect.

On the western edge of Embrathis, the ruined span called Bridge Mouth looms—massive, half-collapsed arches and fractured decks hanging over deep water. Cut off by the Boundary and shedding stone and metal without warning, it’s a sealed safety zone where Keeper patrols are routine and trespass means arrest.
Here you will find a cavern that is an Unwound detox center, hidden deep within the rubble.
