Central Embrathis crowns the city’s heart with clockwork towers, brass-filigreed spires, and arched skybridges threading terrace to terrace. By day, sun flares on metal roofs and stained glass; by night, gaslamps bead the cobbles while steam sighs from grates. Magic leads here—wards hum through rails and lifts, laboratories glow past midnight—and the upper and striving middle classes crowd its salons and galleries, chasing brilliance one experiment at a time.

Outer Embrathis is the city’s industrial ring—guild yards and long-roofed shops where looms, forges, and mills turn harvests and livestock into cloth, grain, leather, and metal. Sooty alleys and wide courtyards frame spaced-out sheds and foundries; when whistles blow, rough-handed workers pour out, unbowed, the city’s backbone humming into the night.

Between the city’s fervor and Outer Embrathis’s clangor, the land eases into quilted fields—barley, wheat, orchards, and bright pastures where waterwheels tick and distant smoke fades to a smudge. Small farmsteads of the lower classes line dusty roads; children sprint barefoot, livestock drift, and soot freckles leaves, while Siphons and Guards hunt Variant magic and life keeps to its rhythm—plow, milk, harvest, mend—quietly feeding the gleaming city beyond the hedgerows.

Embrathis’s wilds are varied and mostly untamed: a southern gulf for fishing (rough past the break, gentle near shore); a southeastern forest shifting from dense stands to open glades where trails can vanish; and smaller northwestern grasslands of open, windy hills. The western bridge mouth is closed for safety. To the east, steep mountains—riddled with old mines and prowled by predators—are the most hazardous.
