Bio

Hello! I’m Jae—feral eldritch cryptid from the very northern tip of the Appalachias, currently in temporary desert captivity (moved from Maine to Texas for a while.) Alongside my wife, Sage, I co-dreamed and co-founded Shadow of the Shattered. Around the site I’m the creature behind the curtain doing plot development, worldbuilding, and a bit of coding.

If you want to plot: please do. I’m forever down for the unpredictable chaos of RP—disasters, triumphs, heartfelt messes, and all the delicious drama. I’ve been RPing for nearly two decades and have spent the last six years co-authoring a high-fantasy novel with Sage. Medieval fantasy is home base; storytelling is the lifelong obsession; digital art rides shotgun and steals my snacks.

Off the page, I’m a 31-year-old full-time single mom to a brilliant 11-year-old girl, an animal-and-nature enthusiast, and a certified menace (the friendly, enrichment-needed kind).

Bio

Hello there! You can call me Sage. I'm a vague, intergalactic entity trapped in a frequently malfunctioning human vessel (daydreamer with chronic pain and hypermobility). I co-founded SoS with my wife, Jae, helping with plot development and worldbuilding, as well as building the mechanics systems.

I've been writing a high fantasy novel series with Jae for several years, and writing has been my biggest passion since I was about 10 years old, so I'm always down for plotting! I have been a DM for Dungeons & Dragons for years (currently on hiatus while I manage college and my job). I live in the chaotically wonderful thunderdome known as New Jersey, and my house is filled with far too many animals and people, but it keeps life interesting to say the least.

I love animals and the outdoors, am an avid collector of fantasy and historical weapons, and am an ecclectic witch from the eastern Appalachian Mountains, which means I rather enjoy being a menace to society, both online and in-person.

Bio

Hey! I'm Spotted. Looks like you found my profile blurb. It's okay; I stalk them, too. Despite that, I feel I'm awful at actually writing them.

I've been RPing for over 15 years now; animals, humans, shifters, magical creatures, more or less in that order. I'm a huge science and history nerd, but moreover, I love learning. Breaking things down, sifting through the nitty-gritty, it tickles all the right spots in my brain. Around SoS, I help with lore development, taking the spider silk our lovely admins spin up and spending my time trying to flesh out the intricacies of the web on a human/cultural level.

Writing is certainly a passion, but I also enjoy cooking, swimming, and gaming both online and tabletop. I main healers, tanks, and/or supports of any kind in most games I play, because there is something about little green numbers that makes me very happy.

I have a penchant for being a thorn in my characters' sides. Either by putting rocks in the paths of their happily ever afters, slow burns, sad histories, complex villain origin stories, etc, etc, but I'm also down for some just good ole-fashioned happiness. Although I admittedly flounder a bit at it, because "what is healthy/normal life dynamics".meme. But my most guilty pleasure is crafting my characters from the events going on around them and taking things at the natural pace, even if it has taken literal real life years to have characters finally confess their feelings for each other, much less act on them.
