Character Stats determine the strengths and weaknesses of a character in a comparable format. These can be used for references between characters and for official conduction of staff-led events. On the Shadow of the Shattered, we use a stat system of six categories, built similarly to the Dungeons & Dragons TTRPG.
Stats must be completed before a character can be approved, as they are required to interact with Random Encounters, Quests, and Official Plot Threads. When creating your character, you are granted a base pool of 72 points to distribute how you would like between the six categories. In addition, everyone will have a Racial Bonus, and certain character roles will have additional boosts, as detailed below. For point of reference, the average person would have 10 points in each category.
At creation, your character's stat scores cannot exceed 15, UNLESS it is their racial/role stat. For example, if you have created a Loom Human, their INT stat score may be 16 at creation. Or if you are creating a Loom Human Councilor, their INT score may be 17 at creation. All stats must be higher 0 points.
For the average character, the final count of their distributed stats should add up to 73 points. This sum total will be different if you have other boosts or debuffs to factor in.
More stats can be obtained in time through Training threads or Shadow Market purchases.
The six stats have a general maximum of 20 points for the average character. Training threads are a 1:1 for thread-to-stat, but once a stat category has 20 points in it, it can only be added to via a 2:1 training-to-stat ratio. Characters are allowed TWO Training threads per season (excluding Lingering Injury training), and if your character completes two Training threads for one stat, that concludes their seasonal allowance of Training threads.
